Hebrew 6: Your Parshah

To learn Hebrew, we’ll focus on your parshah, the Torah portion you are reading at your b’nai mitzvah.

First, find your portion if you do not already know it. Just look up the date of your bar or bat mitzvah and then parshah will show up. It will be called “parashat” on this website.

The text you should use for your parshah can be found on our favorite website, Sefaria.

You should work with your tutor to develop flash cards with the most commonly used words in your parshah. If you learn these vocabulary words, then everything else in the parshah will come together easily.

Homework

Send your torah portion/parshah to your mentor. Work with him/her to develop flash cards with the most commonly used words. Practice these words and be able to quickly spot read them.
