We are constantly adding new events, so check back for updates and join our email list! You can contact our Communications Coordinator or Event Coordinator with questions.

Topics: The God We Don’t Believe In
Join us for our informal learning sessions where we explore (and debate!) Jewish ideas about life. New topics at every session, from complex questions about God to creating a more loving world. This series is open to anyone aged 13+ who is Jewish, wants to be Jewish, loves a Jewish person, or is just a little “Jewcurious”. No Jewish knowledge or experience required. Light refreshments sponsored by our friends at NCEJ.
This event is free, but please still RSVP!
For the time being, we will alternate between virtual and in-person Shabbat services.

We are so excited that Gather has offered us space for our Shabbat services! Gather provides office & coworking space throughout RVA—and this is where our team meets for planning all of Kehillah’s events! This is a great opportunity to try something new and expand further into our community.
Indoor catered dinner, followed by soulful acoustic melodies led by Robin Rio and words of inspiration with Rabbi Patrick. All are welcome! No Kehillah or Jewish experience required. Tickets are $19/person for your dinner and drinks. Free tickets for those under 18.

Join us for an interactive virtual service with a reverential musical selection, prayers, and a discussion-based teaching by Rabbi Patrick. Free, but donations appreciated to support of our Shabbat and holiday programming.
Ways We Keep You Safe
Kehillah is committed to your personal wellbeing. That is why we want you to know more about our safety efforts at events.
COVID-19 & Mask Wearing
Ultimately, we encourage anyone who can get vaccinated against COVID-19 to do so, and to take the precautions they feel are necessary for their wellbeing. For more information on COVID-19 and religious communities, please see the Virginia Department of Health website.
While we do not strictly require masks at events, we certainly encourage people to assess their risk against contracting communicable diseases, including COVID-19, and to feel comfortable wearing a mask at our events, even if they see that others are choosing not to wear them. You matter, and your health matters, too.
Event Security
In consultation with our local Jewish Community Federation of Richmond and in conjunction with our partners, we have in place the following security measures at our Midlothian location:
- We use a space that is not “visibly Jewish” to the outside public, which acts as a deterrent for miscreants.
- Everyone must register for events. No one without an RSVP is let into any event under any circumstances. We reach out to newcomers to verify their identity before every event.
- During events, doors are automatically locked and can only be unlocked from the inside or using an app that only vetted keyholders have on their cellphones.
- No one is left alone after an event ends and we happily escort people to their cars if asked.
For larger events such as Carytown Hanukkah, we use visible, armed security (often more than one per event).
