Just in time for Passover, Hiddr Meats VA has collaborated with Kehillah to finally make sustainable kosher, grass fed & finished, meat available to Richmond’s Jewish community.
This month’s pickup day is Wednesday, April 9th/11 Nissan in Midlothian.

Hiddr Meats VA’s Charlottesville farm will offer the highest quality, grass fed & finished, kosher meat at the greatest value possible through a distribution relationship with Kehillah. In order to support community purchasing power, meat is sold in family size packs, and can be picked up from our congregation in Midlothian.
So Many Amazing Options
While Hiddr Meats VA offers ten exclusive bundles and versatile cuts, perfect for stews, meatballs, grilling, and beyond, we’re partial to a few options that meat the needs of households new to kosher meat.
Best Starter Pack: the Modeste bundle and the whole turkey.

The Modeste offers a great introduction to kosher meat and a very economical price. The basic cuts are self-explanatory: ground beef for steak burgers, london broil for weekday steak salad, stew cubes for beef in red wine sauce or shredded beef bowls, and the kebab for the grill. The Deckle is a dream roast.

Whole Turkey, because Thanksgiving isn’t the only time for turkey! Of course, you can go full roast for a special occasion. But if you don’t mind a little effort, you can cut the turkey into legs, breast, etc. and individually bag for meals of 2-4 people. Save the bones for soup.
For Foodie Friends: the lamb quarter or the Family Pack.

For foodies with small freezers, we recommend connecting with your fellow Kehillah members to purchase a bundle together, such as the lamb quarter or the Family Pack. This will allow you the most versatility, without the commitment of a large order. Note that Kehillah does not facilitate shared purchases.
Connecting with Land, Animals and Community
“From all of us at Hiddr Meats VA, we want to help you connect with the land, the animals, and community. You’re buying our meat, yes, but you’re also intimately part of the process of how it’s raised and finished. We ask not that you tend to the animals directly, but rather through honoring the process by enjoying your holy meals, with those you love”.
Orders placed in our buying club help to support Kehillah, and more importantly, support kosher options in Richmond.
